We are The Empire Club Lancing
The Empire club first opened on Saturday 24th May 1924 and has since seen a host of changes over the years such as building extensions, changes of the types of events held, 10,000+ members and a whole host of committee members to name a few! Unfortunately there are not many photo's or recorded history in existence to show all the changes which have happened so if you know of any, please get in contact with us as we would be grateful for any we don't already have.
Currently, The Empire Club is a membership only club, although visitors can be signed in with an active member present at any time. We welcome any request to become a member so you do not necessarily need to know a member to become a member. On occasions we also host events where we open to doors to everyone whether members or non members to allow to local communities, family and friends, to socialise and have a great time! We regularly host events to raise money for charity and local causes so keep an eye out for them on our events section and come along and support where you can!
We currently host a weekly food and drinks Raffle on a Sunday as well as a cash prize game called 'Play your cards Righter' a spin off of the classic higher or lower card game which as seen jackpots up to nearly £2,000! The empire club also holds a games licence which means we have fruit machines and jackpot card game on the premise with cash prizes up to £500 Jackpots on 3 of our machines.
The Empire Club also shows all popular sports on the TV's such as the Premier League football, Champions League football, Six nations Rugby, Tennis, Snooker, Darts and much much more! We also have our own lighted dart board area as well as three immaculate Snooker tables in its own dedicated quiet room.
Something else The Empire Club prides itself on is it's regular music events! Currently there is live music at least once a week and we openly support local artists and bands. We like to host bigger music events roughly every other month and these events are usually first come first serve, ticketed events. We have had successful Christmas pantomimes in the past for families to attend as well as Halloween parties and popular children's Discos which always include fun games and prizes!
